The campground is divided into two sections, the East and West, with sites that range from primitive to full hookup. The East Campground is smaller and the sites are close together, but there are power lines running through it and the wildlife is more apparent. The West Campground is larger, with a playground and showerhouse in the middle. The sites are small, so larger rigs should book the West Campground. There are also plenty of hiking trails and the Clinch River Brewing Co is very close. The restrooms are outdated, but the park is a great place for stargazing.

Norris Dam State Park Camping offers two campgrounds with a total of 75 campsites. The east campground has 25 campsites with water and electric hook-ups and 10 primitive tent-only campsites. The west campground has 50 sites with water and electric hook-up, including three paved sites suitable for persons with disabilities. The park also has three backcountry campsites. All sites have a table, grill, and fire pit. A bathhouse is centrally located in each campground and is open year-round. A laundromat is located next to the park office, open seasonally. Firewood is available at the park office/visitor center. The maximum stay during in-season is 14 nights, and during the off-season is 28 nights.
