Townsend / Great Smokies KOA Holiday is a beautiful and well-maintained campground located next to a river. The sites are well maintained and the bathhouses and restrooms are also well taken care of. The staff is courteous and helpful, and upgrades such as decks and fire pits are constantly being made. The campground is nicely spaced and clean, and the amenities and location are fantastic. Although the bathrooms need some work, the grounds are generally good and the campsite by the river is great. Overall, this is a peaceful and beautiful mountain campground with super nice staff that visitors enjoy returning to.

We also offer a wide range of water/electric and tent camping site areas; ranging from semi-sunny to heavily wooded and secluded.Don't want to rough it? Reserve one of our cozy log Camping Cabins or Deluxe Cabins. Our are the ultimate in cabin camping; featuring private bedroom(s), bathroom, patio with a grill, and full linens. Additional include a laundry, swimming pool, two very clean bathhouses, a modern playground for the little ones, a covered pavilion equipped with a beautiful stone fireplace, a basketball court, wireless internet, bicycle rentals and more.The outdoor recreation opportunities never end at Townsend KOA! Rent a bike and explore the beautiful 5-mile long Townsend Bike Trail, featuring historic locations throughout and conveniently located across the road from our campground. With 1,650 feet of river frontage, you can camp with easy access to the Little River, which flows directly out of the National Park. The river is excellent for swimming or tubing and is well known for great trout fishing.
