Located at the south end of The Big Thicket, Village Creek State Park is an ideal destination for those who enjoy primitive camping and birdwatching. The park offers quiet, well-maintained campsites that are perfect for a short stay. While some sites are close together, there is plenty of shade and trails for hiking and biking are nearby. Bathrooms are clean and located a short distance away. Although the park suffered significant damage from Hurricane Harvey, it has been fully restored and is open for visitors. The park staff is helpful and welcoming, and there is plenty to explore nearby for those on a longer trip.
