Monahans Sandhills State Park, located in Monahans, TX, offers a unique and beautiful camping experience for those who enjoy sand dunes. With the ability to camp right on the dunes, visitors can enjoy spectacular sunsets and night skies like no other. Although not as grand as White Sands or Great Sand Dunes National Parks, Monahans Sandhills State Park offers its own special charm with its convenient location off of I20 and the fun activity of sliding down the dunes. Clean and well-kept facilities offer guests a comfortable stay, with the only drawback being sound carrying from neighboring campsites. The sand dunes also make the stay unique, but it can be difficult to sled due to the soft and fine sand. Despite this, Monahans Sandhills State Park is a great place to make wonderful memories.

Monahans Sandhills State Park offers a Texas-sized sandbox for kids of all ages, as well as a close-up view of a unique desert environment. The park does not have marked trails – you are free to explore at will. Watch for the myriad of creatures, plants and wildflowers that thrive in what seems to be an inhospitable place. Bring your horse and explore our 800-acre equestrian area, which has no marked trails. Expect heavy sand with brush and a few mesquite trees. Reserve one of 26 campsites with water and electricity. Each site has a shade shelter.
