What others are saying about this campground
Lake Tawakoni State Park is a great place for a quick camping trip. It offers spacious sites with concrete slabs, full hookups, and plenty of shade. The park amenities include boat ramps, picnic shelters, fish cleaning stations, a swimming area with sand beach, and peaceful trails. The bathrooms are clean and updated, and individual rooms with toilets and showers provide extra privacy. The campground is secluded and quiet, and the sites are spread out for tent and RV camping. The lake is an ideal spot for bank fishing, and the park has a number of geocaches and miles of hiking and biking trails. Come prepared for a battle with ants, and be sure to bring a pressure regulator for your hoses, as the water pressure is high. The park is also under a burn ban, so be sure to check before you go.
