The observatory is a must-do while staying. The park offers a nice pool, laundry area, park models, and a pickleball court. It is located near restaurants, a Walmart Supercenter, Tractor Supply, and a Safeway grocery store. While there are fairly regular trains that can be heard, it is not overly noisy and the back-in sites are clean and ready upon arrival.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory is a medium-sized RV resort located in Benson, Arizona. The resort features a Meade LX-200 GPS 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope in a 15’ diameter electrically operated dome. The resort offers amenities such as a woodshop, pickleball, golf cages and putting green, a library, fitness center, and clubhouse. The pool and hot tub are open from 8 am to 9 pm. The restrooms are closed daily from 10 am to 11 am for cleaning. The observatory is open nightly, weather permitting. The resort is centrally located to all area attractions such as Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Bisbee, Pima Air & Space Museum, and the casinos of Tucson. The resort is also close to the local wineries of Sonoita & Elgin in the Santa Cruz Valley.
