Clay Springs Campground is a small, adult-oriented campground located adjacent to the Sitgreaves National Forest. It offers lots of shade, newer utilities (50 amp, sewer, and water), and level sites with sturdy picnic tables. The scenery is beautiful, with stars to view at night and elk in the fall. Owners are friendly and helpful, often leading ATV rides and showing visitors interesting sites. Wild horses, deer, owls, and elk can be seen in the area. Unfortunately, there is no pool and communications can be iffy, but it is a great spot for overnight or a couple of weeks. The rate is monthly divided by 30 days and there is a happy hour at 4pm nearly everyday (BYOB). Be aware that the town of Clay Springs doesnt have much for grocery stores, so fuel up and shop before you arrive. There is a bad slope from the entrance to the back of the property with some kind of lava gravel roads.

AZ High Country Campground is a family-owned and operated RV park located on the border of Sitgreaves National Forest. The campground offers 36 full RV hookups for all types of RVs, from Class A motorhomes to teardrop travel trailers. The park is family-oriented and family-friendly, with spacious lots separated by juniper trees throughout the park. Amenities include water, sewer, trash, and basic WiFi. The campground is situated near the Maverick Trail Head in Clay Springs, which offers heart-pounding all-terrain motorized trails for 60 miles to Porter Mountain Loop. AZ High Country Campground is a Passport America affiliate, offering a 50% discount on reservations. Monthly rates are available for stays of 1 to 7 months, and daily and weekly rates are also available.
