Coal Creek Campground is a small campground located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, conveniently located near the Arizona/New Mexico state line. The campground is set under large ponderosa pine and oak trees, and is a popular rest stop for travelers on AZ Hwy 78. The campground offers 5 family units for tent, trailer, and motorhome camping up to 16 feet. There are 5 picnic tables available, but no drinking water. The campground is available on a first-come-first-serve basis and there is no fee to camp. Amenities include vault toilets. The campground is operated by the Forest Service and is open year-round.
