Incredible views of Prescott Valley and Cottonwood from the top of the mountain. The road to get there is unpaved and can be a bit bumpy, but it’s worth it. The campground has three loops, with the first and second loops having sites that are close together, perfect for camping with friends. The third loop has sites with less privacy, but they are more spread out and have amazing views of the valley. Fishing and hiking are available, and its only 15 minutes from Jerome. The campground is well kept and the bathrooms are clean. Its only $10 a day to camp here, and the hosts are friendly. Mingus Mountain Campground is located in the cool pines atop Mingus Mountain, offering a spectacular view of the Verde Valley, the red rocks of Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, and the Mogollon Rim. The campground has 19 trailer/RV electrical hook-ups, 11 tent sites, picnic tables, fire rings, 5 vault toilets, garbage service, and drinking water available for campground guests for use on site, but not for filling RV water tanks. The campground is open from May 1 to October 31 and is operated by the Forest Service.
