From The Campground

Herb Martyr Campground is located in the Coronado National Forest and is a popular birdwatching and hiking area in Cave Creek Canyon. The campground offers tent camping only and is open year-round. The area is known for its trogons and over 300 species of birds have been sighted in the Chiricahua Mountains. Other wildlife frequently sighted here include Apache fox squirrels, coatimundis, and Coues white-tailed deer. The campground is located near the Herb Martyr trailhead, which offers scenic views and hiking opportunities. High clearance vehicles are strongly recommended and 4WD is beneficial if available.
