From The Campground
Winn Campground is located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and is an excellent choice for anglers and hikers. The campground is situated near the Mt. Baldy trailheads and the East and West forks of the Little Colorado River. Some sites border a large meadow where elk are often seen at twilight. The vegetation type is mixed conifer and aspen. The campground offers 63 units for tent and RV camping, as well as two group sites that can accommodate up to 50 people each. The two group sites are popular with scout groups and for family reunions. The campground amenities include picnic tables, toilets, and drinking water. The fees are $14 per vehicle per night, and an additional camp unit is $14. The Interagency/Senior Discount is $7, but group sites are not eligible for this discount. The North and South Group Sites have a fee of $125, which applies to all 14 vehicles and 50 people. The campground is open from May to October and is operated by a concessionaire. Expect cool to cold nighttime temperatures and be prepared for rain, often heavy, through July and August. The lake in the campground offers excellent trout fishing. Pets must always be restrained or on a leash.
