Fort Tuthill Recreation Area in Flagstaff, AZ is a beautiful and well-maintained Air Force run recreation area. It has about two dozen shaded sites with water and electric hookup available. The campground has a variety of lodging options including a hotel, lodges, cabins, and yurts for rent. The facility has a large laundry and bath house, and the front desk area is more like a hotel with a nice taproom nearby. The campground is easily accessible from the freeway and is only five minutes away from Flagstaff. The spots are generous, but navigation can be challenging because of the tight dirt loop. The level of water temperature in the handicap shower for women is significantly lower than other showers, and the lock to get into the bathroom is persnickety. Regardless, Fort Tuthill is a great overnight stop that we love, especially since it offers hiking trails, bike rentals, free BBQ every Sat, and much more. When staying in Flagstaff, we highly recommend Fort Tuthill!

From the beautiful Ponderosa Pine Forest to the exceptional mountain views, there is no end to the wonderment that surrounds you as you stay with us here at Fort Tuthill. Our exceptional staff is here to help you with whatever you need, from restaurant recommendations to all the happenings nearby. Eligibility will be checked at Check-In, and an ID is required. Acceptable ID’s are: CAC Card from the DoD, Retiree Card from the DoD, Veteran’s Health ID Card with “Service Connected”, “Purple Heart”, or “POW” specified on their ID.
