Brundrett Campground is a great spot for groups and individuals alike. It is located in a patch of Ponderosa Pines with primarily pinyon juniper surroundings, and is conveniently close to the highway. There are 12 single spaces with co-ed bathrooms (toilet only), 2 large BBQs, covered ramadas with picnic tables, and an oversized metal fire pit. The group site is a large open space with trees around the outer edges and on one side. It features covered ramadas, picnic tables, BBQs, and an oversized metal fire pit. There are also a few scattered picnic tables, standing BBQs, and fire pits. There is a self pay machine, but it did not work during our stay. Hiking from camp is nice along a dry creek bed (in June), and cell phone service is available. The campsites are well maintained and level, each with a steel fire ring and grate as well as a nice metal picnic table. There is a sign at the entrance saying no vehicles over 20 ft suggested. The only downside is the traffic noise from the highway, but it is not unbearable.

Timber Camp Recreation Area and Group Campgrounds is a popular family and group campground located in the Timber Camp Mountains of Tonto National Forest. The campground offers both day-use sites and overnight areas surrounded by a ponderosa pine and juniper woodland, providing a cool getaway in hot summer months. The area is ideal for cross-country horseback riding, hiking, in-season hunting, exploring, off-highway vehicle use, and wildlife viewing. The campground has three areas: Brundrett 1, Brundrett 2, and Equestrian. Brundrett 1 is a first-come, first-serve camping area with 13 individual campsites, a large shade pavilion, picnic tables, fire grills and rings, and two accessible vault toilets. Brundrett 2 and Equestrian are group camping areas that are reservable at Recreation.gov. Brundrett 2 can accommodate up to 100 people and has open parking for approximately 15 RVs or 25 passenger vehicles, accessible vault toilets, campfire rings, grills, pavilion, tables, and more. Equestrian can accommodate up to 75 people and has steel corrals, two hitching rail, manure bins, and open parking for about 25 vehicles pulling trailers up to 45 feet. The group site is fenced, and the front entrance gated. Water and electrical hookups are not available at this recreation area. Trash service is not available, so please, Pack it in, Pack it out.
