What others are saying
This dispersed campground is a great spot for those looking to explore the Grand Canyon and its surrounding areas. The road in is a bit bumpy, so it is best to take it slow and be prepared for some pot holes. Once you reach the campground, you will find a serene pine tree forest with plenty of privacy. You will also have access to numerous trails and forest roads for hiking and biking. Wildlife is abundant in the area, with elk and cows often seen in the camping area. Additionally, you will have access to DISH coverage on all three western satellites at your site. Be aware that there is usually a fire ban in the area due to the decades long drought, and you may be infested with Dingy Cutworm Moths every night from ~7-10pm. If you are looking for a beautiful, serene spot to explore the Grand Canyon, this dispersed campground is the perfect spot for you!

From The Campground
Tusayan Ranger District is a beautiful campground located in Kaibab National Forest. The campground is situated on the northern portion of the Coconino Plateau and is bordered by Grand Canyon National Park, Navajo Indian Reservation, private and State lands, and Havasupai Indian Reservation. The total area of the Tusayan Ranger District is about 360,000 acres and lies completely within the watershed of the Colorado River. The topography of the district is, for the most part, gentle. The exceptions are several steep, intermittent drainages, the Coconino Rim, and Red Butte. Along the Coconino Rim, slopes drop abruptly into the Upper Basin. Red Butte reaches an elevation of 7,324 feet. The campground offers a variety of activities including Bicycling, Mountain Biking, Camping & Cabins, Group Camping, Dispersed Camping, Fishing, Hiking, Horse Riding & Camping, Hunting, and Nature Viewing. There are several trails for hiking and mountain biking, and the campground offers cabin rentals and fishing opportunities. The campground is also a great place for wildlife viewing and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
