This campground is situated in a beautiful setting, surrounded by pine trees and a National Forest. It is a great place to escape the heat of Phoenix, as it is at an elevation of 7,000 feet. The sites are spacious and level, with hookups and fire pits. Although wood is not provided, you can bring your own. The campground is free most of the time, but costs $8 during peak season, and you can stay up to two weeks. The roads are close by, so you may hear some traffic noise, but it is not too bad. Verizon signal is decent and there is satellite reception, but it is tricky to nonexistent in most sites. Wi-Fi is available but limited to a small room behind the office. There are no amenities, but there are weekly activities such as Card Bingo and Potlucks. The campground is monitored by a husband/wife team, and dogs must be on a leash at all times. There is a small cafe and service station within a mile, and the Happy Jack Lodge is just a few miles away with a restaurant and convenience store.

From The Campground

Clints Well Campground is located near a junction of two major roads which provide access to northern Arizona's National Forest lands. As such it is close to several features of recreational interest. A short drive from the campground is the scenic Mogollon Rim, the two thousand foot drop-off that marks the southern limit of the Colorado Plateau. Also within easy driving distance are a number of forest lakes known for their excellent fishing. A small community which is springing up at the crossroads provides easy access to services such as a gas station/country store and a restaurant.
