From The Campground
Picture Mountain RV Park Resort is a secluded natural setting with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, including Four Peaks, Mount Ord, the Matzatzals, and Sierra Anchas. The park offers guests a quiet setting with lots of shade trees and several large lawns. Guests have direct access to Tonto Creek and miles of ATV trails. Our spaces are generous and easily accommodate your RV and a vehicle and ATV or boat. We also have storage for additional vehicles. All our spaces have 50 / 30 and 20 amp pedestals, water and sewer hook ups, and individual electric meters. Dogs are always welcome as long as they are on a leash and under control, just be sure to clean up after them. We put on an annual Pit BBQ every fall for our guests, a Christmas party, January Chili cook-off, and in the spring, we put on an annual breakfast 'cowboy style' biscuits and gravy, etc. We have a community fire pit for campfires and gatherings that our guests are welcome to use. Tonto National Monument Cliff Dwelling is just a short drive south on Hwy 188. Tonto Natural Bridge is an hour north on Hwy 87. Tonto National Forest offers excellent recreational opportunities, fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, and birdwatching. Local wildlife includes whitetail and mule deer, javelina, bobcat, coyote, black bear, mountain lions, and desert bighorn sheep. Roosevelt Lake is just 15 miles south of the park on Hwy 188 and offers excellent bass fishing. Apache Lake is a short drive also. Tonto Basin has a mild winter climate if you are looking for a break from the cold.
