What others are saying
Roadrunner Campground at Lake Pleasant is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Located in Maricopa County, the 103,000-acre park offers plenty of activities, including fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and wildlife watching. Visitors can explore the lakes shores, rocky terrain, and desert floor, and take in the stunning saguaros and teddy bear chollas. The campground has well-marked sites with paved parking pads, ramadas for shade, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and fire rings. There are no sewer hookups, but campers can use generators. The park is home to a whole herd of wild donkeys, and visitors may spot them wandering into campsites. There is a playground, a Discovery Center, and a marina with speedboats, hot air balloons, and sailboats. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the camp host is always available to make sure visitors have a great stay. Unfortunately, there is a fire ban in place and the showers are not warm enough. Despite these drawbacks, Roadrunner Campground at Lake Pleasant is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the desert and the serenity of the lake.
