La Posa South is a dry camping area located on US-95 just south of Quartzsite, AZ. It is part of the Bureau of Land Managements Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) and offers a great spot for RVers to camp in the desert. The area is wide open and offers plenty of room to spread out, with the nearest neighbor often being a quarter mile away. There are dirt roads throughout the area, allowing for easy access by any size rig. The area offers vault toilets, water spigots, a dump station, and dumpsters for garbage. There is also a pump-out service that will come to your location within the LTVA for an additional fee. During the Quartzsite RV show, the area can get quite crowded, but it still offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The ground is hard packed gravel, lava base and will support any size rig. It can get a bit dusty when vehicles drive by, and the wind can blow during the winter months. The cost for a two week stay is $40, and a 7 month permit is available for $180.

The La Posa Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) is a 11,400-acre campground located in Yuma, AZ. It was created in 1983 to fulfill the needs of winter visitors and to protect the local desert ecosystem from overuse. The campground offers solitude in a unique desert landscape and a variety of recreational opportunities such as hiking, wildlife viewing and rockhounding. The facilities include 10 ADA accessible vault toilets, 8 water faucets, dry dump station, dump station with water, trash services, dance floor and ramada.
