Wonderful sunsets and wildlife make this place a joy to visit. Nestled in the Arizona desert, this campground is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just a 24 mile drive from Stafford AZ, along a bumpy asphalt road brings you to some lovely desert camping with miles of OHV trails and two hot thermal pools for soaking. For just $3/day you can camp, soak, or ride in this beautiful desert oasis. There are only around 14 designated sites, but there are many other tucked away spots where you are welcome to set up camp. Be sure to bring a vehicle out front to hold traffic while you get through and nerves of steel, as the road is basically a single lane and there are a couple of dips that longer coaches may drag on. The road in the CG are gravel and the sites are large and most have a long drive into a turning circle with a shade shelter, picnic table and fire rings. They have pit toilets and hose bibs are scattered around the CG. It is located above the river on a shadeless bench and will be very hot during the summer. The river is a short walk down the hill from the CG. There is no phone service, wifi, dump station, showers or power and you are about 15 miles from Safford for the closest supplies. Experience the beauty of the desert and the riparian area with a stay at this campground. Enjoy the fast flowing river that looks like chocolate, and the stunning sunsets and wildlife. Be sure to come prepared to dry camp as there is no other water source than the thermal pools, but the pit toilets are very clean and well stocked by the friendly camp host. With no phone service or wifi, it’s the perfect place to unplug and enjoy nature.
