What others are saying about this campground
The campground is located in the Sonoran Desert with views of the McDowell and Superstition Mountains. The sites are spacious and level, with plenty of room for your truck and a nice yard with a table, barbeque, and fire ring. The restrooms and showers are spotless and the camp hosts are top-notch, quickly turning the sites around for the next occupant. There are 60 miles of biking and running trails accessible straight from the camp site, and the park is close to services in Fountain Hills, Tempe, and Phoenix. The only downsides are the lack of dumpsters and trash cans, and the occasional small-engine aircraft noise.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park offers 92 individual campsites and several group camping options. The campground contains 76 individual sites for RV or tent camping. Each site has a large parking area, a picnic table, and a barbecue fire ring. These are 'Developed Sites' with water and electrical hook-ups (20, 30 & 50 Amp). Several shower & restroom buildings are centrally located for camper's use. An on-site RV dump station is available for registered campers. The Ironwood Campground has 16 individual sites for small camping units (max 16ft. trailer) or tents. These are 'Semi-Developed Sites' with no water or electricity. Each site has a picnic table, barbecue fire ring, and tent area. Parking accommodations vary per site with some being parking lot spots and others being back-ins or pull-thrus. A restroom building and water spigot are centrally located in the campground. Large groups can reserve one of three campgrounds within McDowell Mountain Regional Park. The Group Campgrounds can be reserved for a fee and requires a commitment of five units to utilize the facility for dry camping.
