Brookchar Campground is a tent-only campground located near Big Lake in Arizona. It is a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts, with many opportunities for recreation and exploration. It is within walking distance of Big Lake and is across the small road from the lake, making it easy to access the lake and boat rental area. The campground is small, but the sites are large and have multiple great clearings for tents, with lots of shade and easy paths for walking around the grounds. There is a clean bathroom in the campsite as well as water, and the camp host is very friendly and has plenty of firewood for purchase. The directions to the campground are not very clear, so it is best to plan ahead. Despite the skunk problem two years ago, the campground is a very nice place to stay, with great weather and distanced spaces.

Grayling Campground is a small facility located in the Big Lake Recreation Area, situated in the mixed conifer and aspen forest. It offers 23 secluded campsites, some with a view of the lake. Visitors can enjoy trout fishing, hiking, mountain biking, birding, and wildlife viewing. The campground is adjacent to 450-acre Big Lake, one of Arizona's top fishing lakes. The lake is known for its trout fishing, with rainbow, cutthroat, brook and Apache being the most sought-after species. A store is also nearby with gas, food, boat rentals and firewood for sale.
