What others are saying
This campground is the perfect place to visit in the cooler months of the year. It is a quick 20 minute drive away, and has been a go-to spot for years. The sites are well-spaced out, and the park has a great nature center, excellent hiking, archaeology, and good water/power hook-ups. It is well maintained, with level gravel pads, fire rings, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. The scenery is beautiful, and the sites are spread out nicely, though desert vegetation does not offer much privacy. The campground allows 14 day stays, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are great trails to explore, and the views of the Valley of the Sun are stunning. Unfortunately, there are no sewer hookups or full hook-ups, and the Verizon signal is weak. There is also only one shower in the bath house, and the water temperature cannot be adjusted. The campground is fairly quiet, though there is some noise from jets overhead. The park attendants keep the sites spotless, and the park is great for biking and mountain biking. There is a locked gate at night, and the campground is far from shopping and groceries.
