The park is convenient to a number of attractions, such as Calaveras Big Trees State Park and Gold Country Towns, which are only a short drive away. The large off-leash dog area is a definite plus, as well as the many trees which provide ample shade. Though the park is not stunningly fancy, it is generally clean and well-maintained. While some visitors found the campsites to be unlevel, most patrons had no issues with their sites grade.
