Sea Cliff State Park is a beautiful campground located right on the beach, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. There are three sets of restrooms with toilet facilities, but only two have coin operated showers. The hook-up sites have great space, fire rings, picnic tables, and a sand/grass area outside the front porch. The dry camp spots are asphalt parking areas with lines painted on the ground for your site. Each site backs up to a public walkway that is about 8 wide and runs the length of the beach. There is a need for maintenance, as the park is overrun with weeds and the entrance road is overgrown with trees and shrubs. The restrooms are typical for a public beach location, and there is a theft alert as chained generators and ice chests have been stolen. Verizon air card works well, but you may need to go up to the parking lot for reliable phone signal. There is no sinks in the bathrooms and half of them have been closed due to budget cuts. Garbage pick up must be limited too as the bins were full. The spots are good size with plenty of room for tow vehicle and trailer. There is a nice little museum on site, but unfortunately the park is overrun with rude, cigar-smoking, table-banging, beer-drinking, loud-talking, and parking-their-car-in-front-of-other-campers-spaces people whose dogs are out-of-control with aggressive behavior and excessive barking. Sea Cliff State Park is a great place to stay, but reservations must be made 6 months in advance as it sells out quickly.

From The Campground

The Seacliff State Beach campground is currently closed due to winter storm damage, but you can help with Seacliff's recovery by making a donation to the Seacliff State Beach Recovery Fund. The closest tent camping is at neighboring New Brighton State Beach. Visitors can also participate in the Agents of Discovery program to learn about nature and history while earning badges. Community groups can arrange for interpretive talks or guided experiences with staff, contingent upon availability.
