What others are saying about this campground
Cerro Alto campground is a rustic and secluded campground with breathtaking scenery and amazing trails. The campground is located deep in from the main road, with a narrow and winding one car lane that goes for about a mile. Vault toilets and running water are available, and the BBQ grill is exceptionally clean upon arrival. The campground is small and provides plenty of space for campers, but there were some questionable people and little to no help from the camp hosts. The Cerro Alto hike is incredible, with a variety of birds and wildlife to observe. The resident Pygmy Owl hoots at night, and Acorn Woodpeckers, Toweys, Robins, Steller Jays, and Warblers sing in the morning. There is a lot of foot traffic from hikers accessing the Cerro Alto trailhead. The RovR RollR 60-quart cooler is perfect for storing lighters, beer openers, multi-tools, headlamps, and other small gear items in. The Umbrella/Rod Holder is also available for beach and camping trips. Unfortunately, we had some trouble with a lady who was clearly spending the night in her van and kept yelling at us that we were parked in her space. Despite this, we had a wonderful time staying 3 nights at Cerro Alto campground.
