Big Bear Shores is a picturesque RV resort located right on Big Bear Lake. It features a pool, ball courts, and a clubhouse, as well as a variety of amenities such as a hot tub, laundry, and trash service. However, these amenities are only available to owners and not to renters. The lake is very low, so the lake-front sites are not actually on the water. The resort is a ghost town in April, so there is no access to any amenities. The security guard is very strict and will not allow rigs that do not comply with their rules. The other parks at the lake are much less expensive but also substandard in comparison. Boating, fishing, and hiking are all within 2 to 5 miles of the resort. There is no boat launch ramp and the swimming pool is heated to an uncomfortable level. The BBQ is out of service and there is no cable or Internet available unless you walk up to the office and get a password. The manager is actually a broker, since they are trying to sell the spaces.
