What others are saying about this campground
Even with no hookups, potable water, or any other amenity, I am rating this campground excellent because staying here was like experiencing a little bit of heaven itself. Kirk Creek Campground is a beautiful campground overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With breathtaking views and the sound of waves crashing, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. There are both reserved and first come first serve sites available, as well as a walking trail that leads through a woodsy area with a creek and down to the water. The campground has no cell service or utilities, but does offer access to drinking water from community spigots. There is a private beach with access from the campground, as well as a long hiking trail across the street that is dog friendly. If you need to check on things, wifi can be found at the pub connected to the Big Sur post office. The campground is perfect for groups, but not ideal if youre looking for a quiet getaway. Make sure to come with water, as there is none onsite. A big shout out to the camp hosts who are dedicated and competent in delivering the best possible experience. Kirk Creek Campground is the perfect place to experience a little bit of heaven.

From The Campground

If you’ve never camped with an ocean view, get yourself to Kirk Creek Campground, which sits on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. When you’re not admiring the amazing views of the Big Sur coastline, head to nearby Sand Dollar Beach for some prime surfing and fishing. Hike to your heart’s content on the vast network of trails in the Los Padres National Forest and along the coast, exploring the area’s bluffs and coves. Mountain biking, horseback riding, and more hiking trails close to the campground reveal waterfalls, redwood groves, mountain streams, and meadows. Be sure to catch the colors of the sun as it sets over this oceanside paradise.
