GenieSummary

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is a large state park located in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It offers a variety of campsites, from heavily shaded redwood sites to sunnier spots upriver. The park is accessible from the north due to a landslide to the south, and features a laundry room, hot showers, a creek to explore, and tall trees providing a cool shade. There are a variety of hikes for all skill levels, as well as a lodge with a store and restaurant. Campsites include a firepit and table, and are perfect for individuals, couples, or families. Dogs are not allowed on the trails, and campfires may not be allowed due to the high fire danger in the area. Verizon service is available in some pullouts along the road, and the campground has two stores with camping supplies, basic food items, and souvenirs.

From The Campground

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is located on the western slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains, where the Big Sur River enters the park. Hikers can enjoy many scenic trails, including a self-guided nature trail. Big Sur Lodge is located in the park and has 61 guest rooms, a conference center, cafe, and a grocery store.
