The park is accessible from the north due to a landslide to the south, and features a laundry room, hot showers, a creek to explore, and tall trees providing a cool shade. There are a variety of hikes for all skill levels, as well as a lodge with a store and restaurant. Campsites include a firepit and table, and are perfect for individuals, couples, or families. Dogs are not allowed on the trails, and campfires may not be allowed due to the high fire danger in the area. From The Campground

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is located on the western slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains, where the Big Sur River enters the park. The park offers a large campground that accommodates hikers, bikers, car campers, and RVers. Many campsites are located along the Big Sur River. Wildlife includes bobcats, black-tail deer, gray squirrels, raccoons, skunks, and birds, such as dippers and belted kingfishers. Hikers can enjoy many scenic trails, including a self-guided nature trail. Big Sur Lodge is located in the park and has 61 guest rooms, a conference center, cafe, and a grocery store.
