This campground is located five miles north of Bishop in the beautiful Eastern Sierras. It is a very basic park with plenty of tall poplar and cottonwood trees for shade at each site and along McGee Creek which runs through a grassy area. It is a great spot for families, as it is quiet and off of Hwy 395, and there are plenty of amenities such as tennis courts, huge athletic fields, horseshoe pits, a playground, archery area, and a small pond for fishing and swimming. The campsites are on dirt and cost $30, with an extra $2.00 fee for showers in bathrooms that need updating. The fire ring/bbq area is nice green grass all the way up the the creek. The campground is kept well maintained and the friendly caretaker is always around camp. The campground is overpriced for what you get, but it is a great place for a peaceful and quiet camping experience.
