What others are saying about this campground
2 vault toilets share one room, which is weird, but the set up is super shotty with an overpowering smell. This campground is a great base to explore the nearby area, from Rock Creek Lake to Mammoth. It is well maintained and manicured, with a few mostly level trails to walk. Though it is close to Highway 395, it is far enough away that noise is not a problem. The campground is usually full from late May to late September, so it is best to avoid going up on a Friday or Saturday. Most sites accommodate smaller RVs, but larger RVs may have difficulty due to the placement of large boulders along the roads. There are designated water hook-ups for RVs, and Toms Place is close by for beer, candy, and great food. Make sure to keep a clean site, or else you may have a visit from black bears. Fishing is great up the road at Rock Creek Lake.
