From The Campground

North Lake Campground is a lovely campground situated among the trees and adjacent to the north fork of Bishop Creek. It has 11 campsites, all with shade among the tall Jeffery and Lodgepole pines. Three of the sites are very short walk-in's. The remainder have small parking spots at the sites. In the spring and early summer, mosquitoes can be an annoyance. The road to North Lake is partially paved and partially gravel and is narrow and winding. Trailers and RVs are prohibited. The campground has vault toilets and no piped water. Dogs are allowed on leash only, and there is a maximum stay of 7 days. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used. America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes are accepted for half priced camping. Follow the instructions on the bulletin board at the campground. The closest town is Bishop, CA, which is 20 miles away and has full services and a hospital. The campground is open from late May and the fee is $27.00 per night. The campground is frequented by fishermen and backpackers, and is a nice tent area. No RV's or trailers are permitted.
