The Leaping Lizard Campground is a great place to stay for those looking for a peaceful and private getaway. The sites are wide, level, and covered in clean beach sand and bordered on three sides with tall trees for extra privacy. The park is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. They offer limited WiFi from 8am to 6pm and have the areas only cellphone booster tower for good reception. The price is also very reasonable at $25 a night. The sites are dirt but level and there are plenty of trees and privacy hedges. The town shuts down during the week but comes alive with off-roaders on the weekends due to the OHV park nearby. There is also a 135 acre desert property that is great for taking the dogs for a run. The only downside is that you may need leveling blocks in front and have to walk a short distance to the office for cell phone service.

Leapin’ Lizard RV Ranch is a premier RV resort located in the Ocotillo Wells / Anza-Borrego Desert area. The campground offers 60 spaces, all with sewer, water, and power hookups in a secure fenced desert environment. Rental units are available for daily, weekly, or monthly rental. The campground features a fully tiled pool (solar heated), heated spa, tiled restroom with showers, laundry facility, clean and well-maintained RV sites, large fenced pet area, horseshoes, playground, RC Challenge Course, and group fire ring. For guests with off-highway vehicles (OHV), there is a gated OHV entrance to an idle in area inside the RV Park. Easy riding access to the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area. Jeep Tours & ATV rentals are available nearby. The campground also offers EV (Electric Vehicle) charging sites with 50amp service and a cell phone “hotspot” at the office.
