GenieSummary

Lake San Antonio is a beautiful campground offering amazing views and plenty of spots to camp. With a warm climate in the summer, the lake often exceeds 100 degrees. Youll need reservations if you want a hookup, and site selection is first-come first serve. The location overlooks a large lake and offers boating and fishing access. All campsite areas are well-worn and in need of investment, with parking pads crumbling and fire rings missing from many sites. Bathrooms are dated with group showers, but are kept clean. There is a fee for small dogs that are not leaving the motor home. The fall rains can make the campground muddy and slippery, making it difficult to hook up water and power. The campground is close to the 18th Century Mission San Antonio de Padua, which is worth a visit. The rangers are prompt in looking into electrical troubles and you can moor your boat close to your site. It is a clean and friendly park, and during off-season it is a relaxing place to spend a few days.

From The Campground

Lake San Antonio Recreation Area is Monterey County’s premier freshwater recreation area. It is geographically divided into two facilities and encompasses 4,200 total acres: South Shore with 3,020 acres and North Shore with 1,180 acres. The South Shore and North Shore park facilities offer outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy year-round: overnight camping, boating, fishing, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking.
