The campground is managed by Carefree Resorts, which offers boat rentals, rental lodges, a restaurant, and a convenience store. The weather is usually pleasant, and the rates are relatively cheap. Wildlife such as deer and turkeys can be seen in the area. The campground has the potential to be great, but it needs some improvements such as interior road improvements and site leveling.

Lake San Antonio Recreation Area is Monterey County’s premier freshwater recreation area. It is geographically divided into two facilities and encompasses 4,200 total acres: South Shore with 3,020 acres and North Shore with 1,180 acres. The South Shore and North Shore park facilities offer outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy year-round: overnight camping, boating, fishing, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking.
