This campground is a great spot for enjoying the outdoors and all the activities that come with it. Boating, kayaking, wakeboarding, tubing, swimming, camping, picnicking, and fishing are all popular activities here. The campground is located on a lake and has plenty of spots to explore. There are lots of tents in the sites, but no rowdy parties. Kids have a great time here, and there is plenty of wildlife to observe. There are some issues with the roads and pads being eroded, but its still possible to level a spot for your RV. There are no reservations accepted, and there is no separation of tenters and RVers. The campground is managed by Carefree Resorts, which offers boat rentals, rental lodges, a restaurant, and a convenience store. The weather is usually pleasant, and the rates are relatively cheap. Wildlife such as deer and turkeys can be seen in the area. The campground has the potential to be great, but it needs some improvements such as interior road improvements and site leveling.

From The Campground

Lake San Antonio Recreation Area is Monterey County’s premier freshwater recreation area. It is geographically divided into two facilities and encompasses 4,200 total acres: South Shore with 3,020 acres and North Shore with 1,180 acres. The South Shore and North Shore park facilities offer outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy year-round: overnight camping, boating, fishing, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking.
