This campground is perfect for those looking for a quiet, secluded getaway. Located just off of Hwy 395, it is surrounded by tall pines and is within walking distance of the Walker River. There are plenty of sites with picnic tables, BBQs, and campfire rings, and the campground provides water for putting out fires at each site. The flush toilets are clean and maintained, and there are water spigots and large trash cans throughout the campground. The campground is rarely full and is great for tent or camper camping (no hook-ups). There is no Verizon signal, but the campground is far enough from the main road that you barely hear any car noise. There is a discounted fee for those with an America The Beautiful Senior Pass. It is a great place to stay for an overnight or to fish the West Walker River.

Bootleg Campground offers solitude and chance to get away from crowds in shaded Jeffrey pines. The campground is across highway from West Walker River which has good fishing opportunities.
