Lake Camanche South in Burson, CA is a great family campground that is clean and well-kept. The RV sites are level, wide, and paved, with adequate elbow room between sites. All sites have full hookups with reliable 50 amp service and cell phone service, but there is no WiFi or cable. The campground is surrounded by oak trees that offer shade, and there are plenty of walking and biking trails throughout the area. The lake was low due to lack of rain, but the fishing pond was well-stocked with bass and sturgeon. The campground was relatively quiet during the week, perfect for enjoying the lake and watching wildlife. However, it could get noisy on the weekend due to groups partying and ignoring quiet time hours. The staff were top-notch and welcoming. Overall, a good option for midweek stays and family camping trips.

Lake Camanche Resort features 550+ tent camping sites spread out over hundreds of acres which are available year-round at both North and South Shores. Many sites offer immediate lake access while others are just a short walk away. Campsite amenities include bbqs, tables, water, hot showers, restrooms and laundry facilities. Primitive sites are just a short drive away to restrooms & showers. All of our sites feature some of California’s best natural and native species of trees, plants and flowers. Looking for alcohol-free camping? Both shores also feature alcohol-free campgrounds, perfect for those in search of a more family-friendly camping experience.
