GenieSummary
San Simeon State Park is a great place to camp and explore the nearby Hearst Castle and Cambria. The campground offers three separate areas, two of which are more developed with paved sites and the other is more primitive. All of the sites are well kept, clean, and offer plenty of wildlife. The campground is also close to the Salmon Creek Trail in the Los Padres National Forest and the Off The Grid compound which has a Bed and Breakfast, goats, chickens, an event space, and a garden. The Firestone Walker Brewery tour is also nearby. The only downside is the dead grassy areas are full of burrs that can get caught in the dogs paws and tummies.
From The Campground
The San Simeon Creek Campground offers 134 campsites for tent camping or recreational vehicles. Recreational activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, bird watching and whale watching. The Junior Ranger Program is a regularly scheduled interpretive program for children. Interpretive walks of the San Simeon Creek Trail may also be available.
