Carpinteria State Beach is a prime location for camping on the beach. The campgrounds provide full hookups and an excellent location to explore local shops and restaurants. Although the spacing of sites is on the tight end, there are options for beachfront and second-line sites with ocean views. The Santa Rosa loop areas offer newer facilities while the cleanliness of bathrooms and showers in the White bricks loop needs improvement. The sunsets at the beach are stunning, and the campgrounds have a friendly staff. The campground shares a parking lot-style design, but it offers plenty of space for two vehicles. The campground can be busy during the weekends, but the convenient location provides easy access to local attractions. The beach offers excellent views and is a great spot for photos. Note that some sites are close to train tracks. Overall, Carpinteria State Beach campground is an excellent choice for beach camping with gorgeous sunsets and easy access to shops and dining.
