What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great spot for travelers looking for a convenient, free, and peaceful place to stay. Located right off of Interstate 10, behind General Patton Museum, this campground is perfect for a quick overnight stop on a long road trip. It is a dry camp only, with no hook ups, and no amenities. There are designated spots for 40 ft and over, several tent only sites, and many back in spots that are big enough for large fifth wheels or RVs. Cell coverage is excellent, and the views of the desert are beautiful. There is a slight highway noise, but it is not unbearable. There is a gas station and mini mart within walking distance, and a Chiriaco Summit Restaurant/Coffee Shop close by for a nice meal and restroom. A campground manager is available to greet visitors and provide directions. There are also WW2 tanks to greet you on your way in. This spot is well maintained and safe, and is a great spot for boondocking.
