The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in Chowchilla, CA offers concrete and mostly level sites that are beautifully landscaped. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and facilities and gates are controlled with an electric device provided at check-in. The resort is gated for added security and has hedges between sites to provide privacy. The common area includes a small pool, propane barbecue, propane fire pit, hot tub, and lounge chairs—an ideal place to relax and unwind. The highlight of this resort is the included green fees at the Pheasant Run Golf Course that welcomes big dogs. However, its also important to note that some guest amenities, like the propane BBQ and propane fireplaces, are only available to certain owners and not available to guests. Additionally, there was a burnt-out motorhome parked on-site during one guests stay. One of the biggest drawbacks is that during one guests stay, the female bathroom facilitys electric lock was broken, and the facilities were inaccessible after 6 pm and before 9:30 am. Also, there was a problem with goose poop in the pool. Overall, the resort has potential to be improved and could be an excellent destination for golf lovers who travel with large dogs and are looking for peace and quiet.
