What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great place to stay for a night or longer! It is a gravel RV park with sites that are fairly close together, but there is some separation including some vegetation, providing a bit of shade - a real treat in this part of the world. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept, and the laundry room has great washers and dryers. There is a small fishing pond with friendly and beautiful ducks. Water, sewer, and power are available, as well as antenna TV with lots of channels. Cell service with T-Mobile is excellent. The bar and restaurant on site is a great way to avoid cooking on the first night on the road. Phone and cable TV are available, but require service hook-up and are not included in the nightly rate. There are a number of attractions nearby, including Calico Ghost Town, Calico Early Man Archeological Site & Museum, Rainbow Basin, Mojave River Valley Museum, Inscription Canyon Petroglyph Site, Opal Mountain Rock Hounding Area, Mule Canyon Scenic Drive, Daggett Museum, Barstow Way Station, Goldstone Deep Space Tracking Center and Peggy Sues 1950s Diner. The office had a posting that showed this park had exceeded uranium levels in the water, but it was safe to drink. She was the reason I felt safe here, though I would never leave my rig unattended for any length of time. This campground is highly recommended and you wont be disappointed!
