Panamint Springs is a campground located on the western edge of Death Valley National Park. It is a great spot for RV camping, with large, generally level sites with vegetation in between and stunning views of the desert and the Panamint Dunes. The campground is surrounded by tent cabins and motel rooms, and there is a restaurant across the street. There are plenty of hikes in the area, including Darwin Falls, Maryjane Falls, Surprise Canyon, and Middle Field. Prospecting poles can also be found in the area, and there is native rock art from when the area was a lake shore. The campground has unstable power and weak electric, and the amenities are in poor shape. The fee is higher than expected and the sites need to be cleaned up. There is no cell phone service, and the food and fuel are expensive due to the remote location. However, the views are great, and there are plenty of shade trees. The campground is a great jumping off site for visiting the attractions of Death Valley National Park.
From The Campground
