This campground is a great choice for those looking for a quiet weekend away. It is conveniently located close to Escondido and only 35 minutes from San Diego. The park offers full sun exposure, a swimming pool, catch and release fishing ponds, a small playground, and plenty of trees and shade. The staff is friendly and helpful and will give you a tour of the available sites in a golf cart. The park also offers a propane truck that comes by on Fridays to fill up motor homes. However, the lots are too close together and there is no space to enjoy. There are also rat traps everywhere and no one picks up after the dogs (which you have to pay extra for). The employees drive incredibly fast around the park, though there is a posted 10 MPH speed limit sign. If you stay short term, the key deposit is returned when you depart - provided you hang around till 9 AM when the office opens.

Champagne Lakes RV Resort is a secluded and spacious RV park located in north San Diego County. Nestled in a valley and conveniently located near Interstate 15, the resort offers a natural setting with huge trees, flowering plants, and lush ground cover. The resort features 140 full hookup RV sites, 15 tent sites, RV and mini storage, fishing lakes stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish, clean restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, a swimming pool, lakeside playground, mini market/deli, public dump station, propane, and a dog park. The resort is open year-round and offers extended stay specials.
