What others are saying about this campground
Hole-in-the-Wall Campground at Mojave National Preserve is a great spot for RVers, tent campers, and anyone looking to explore the desert. The campground is situated in a valley between hills, with breathtaking scenery and an amazing variety of cacti. It is accessible by a 1-2 hour drive on unpaved roads, and offers sites that are some distance apart for a quiet atmosphere. It is a first come first serve campground, and usually not fully packed. Facilities include fire rings, picnic tables, potable water, sanidump, dumpsters, and pit toilets. There is also a visitors center with flush toilets and a small gift shop nearby. There are plenty of activities to do in the area, such as the Rings Trail, Kelso Depot, Mojave Cross, the largest Joshua Tree Forest, and Kelso Dunes, all within an hour ride from the campground. The campground is open year-round, but the water is turned off in early December. Be aware that the wind can be quite strong at night, and it is best to stake down your tent extra tight. There are also plenty of critters in the area, so be sure to keep food stored away. Enjoy the amazing desert views, star gazing, and the peaceful atmosphere at Hole-in-the-Wall Campground.
