This campground is located in Ferndale, California, near Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It is a typical fairgrounds RV park with grassy areas, water, and power hookups. The campground is first come, first served and is fairly busy at this time of year. There are no picnic tables or fire rings, but the bathrooms and showers are clean and heated, and the entry is controlled with a locking device. The water pressure is good and the 30 amp power is very clean. The camp host is friendly and accommodating and the surrounding area is pleasant and peaceful, with farms, cows, and trees in the distance. The campground is close to the picturesque town of Ferndale and is a convenient location for exploring the Lost Coast area. There is a $15 fee for tent camping and $14 for parking lot. The hookups in the grass area are around $30. There is also a $5 fee for the shower if you do not stay in the camp. The campground is quiet and there were only a few other RVs when we visited in winter. Verizon MiFi worked fine but there is no wifi or cable. The road between Shelter Cove and Ferndale is terrible, so travel with caution.
