Mirabel Campground on the Russian River is a rustic camping experience located in the midst of giant redwoods. It is located halfway between Guerneville and Highway 101, with San Francisco being about 60 miles away. The campground offers 110 power with glass fuses, no sewer hookups, and some places may require sharing a water bib. There is a steep walking trail down to a small access to the river. The campground has lots of trees, a very nice staff, and is close to wine country. The sites are old and dirt filled, not level, and small. There is a broken picnic table, and a fireplace that is 3 sides of concrete about 18 square. Dogs must be on leash at all times, and the noise from the highway can be loud all night. The bathrooms and showers need some TLC. The electricity system is very old, and AC cannot be used. There is no cable or Wi-Fi. The manager is a rather crusty lady who does not go out of her way for customer service. The power is regular outlets attached to trees and most are too high to reach. Water works fine, but is in a weird place. The price is hard to beat, but prepare to need to sweep the roof of your rig at least once a week, as lots of dirt constantly reigns down from the huge trees.
