What others are saying about this campground
MacKerricher State Park is a beautiful and serene campground located on the Pacific Ocean, just north of Fort Bragg, California. The campground is spread out, with lush greenery, blackberry bushes, and plenty of tree shade. Amenities include showers, bathrooms, drinking water, and fire rings. The tent spots are nicely divided for privacy, and the beach is just a short walk away. There are plenty of tide pools to explore, and the boardwalk takes you out to the ocean with spectacular views of the rocky coastline. Additionally, there is a small hike and bike area across from one of the camp hosts, who are friendly and welcoming. The campground is more expensive than some other state parks and has limited things to explore, but the beautiful coastal waters and whale watching make it worth the cost. Unfortunately, the campground does not have enough bathrooms for the number of people it gets, and the showers and bathrooms can be dirty. Additionally, the wood sold at the ranger station is damp and the generator hours are restricted. Despite these drawbacks, MacKerricher State Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the ocean and all the wildlife it has to offer.
