The campground is located in the southeast portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, and offers paved sites with gravel patios, cement tables, and fireplaces/grills. It is close to restaurants, stores, and the Coyote Hills Regional Park which has excellent bird watching and hiking. The campground is clean and efficient, though not very scenic. Verizon signal is strong and the data speed is fast. There is a curfew for the locked gate from 10pm to 8am, and no code to get in after hours. The staff is friendly and the playground is small but great for kids. The main downside is the lack of shade, as the trees are still young.

Dumbarton Quarry Campground is a beautiful recreational resource located in Fremont, California. The campground is situated on the site of a former quarry that was in operation from the 1950s through 2007. The gravel from the quarry was used to build parts of San Francisco and Oakland International Airports, highways, and many other projects. The campground offers trails that connect to adjacent Coyote Hills and the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge for hiking, bicycling, picnicking, and viewing of the abundant wildlife. The campground also offers naturalist programs and events that showcase the local flora and fauna.
