This campground is a great place to stay for a night or two on the road. Located near the town of Gasquet, CA and along the Redwood Highway on the Smith River, the campground is nestled in the trees and offers a variety of camping options, including RVs, trailers, and tents. There are no hookups, but there are two restroom buildings and coin showers starting at 50 cents for three minutes. The sites are on the small side, but the shade is very heavy, which can be beneficial during hot weather. There is a trail from the campground to the day use area where you will find access to the middle fork of the Smith River, which is very clear and offers some light rapids and wide spots for swimming/rocky beach. There is also a fire pit and picnic table, and the campground is quiet at night even though it is close to the highway.
