GenieSummary
This campground is a great spot for RVers looking for a beachfront getaway. It features spacious, level sites with plenty of room for a towable, as well as a large grassy area. The beach is open to non-campers, but can get crowded on weekends. It offers plenty of room to sit and watch the ocean, but the drop off is too steep for wading and swimming. Picnic tables and fire rings are available, but you must back in to the ocean-front sites for these amenities to be on the curb side of your rig. The hike and bike area is next to the RV hookup sites, and it can get a good bit of foot traffic. The campground also features water resistant 840 denier ballistic nylon main bag fabric, built-in handmade textile paneling, a left side zip gusset pocket for water bottle and quick-grab accessories, a back-right side zip pocket to access main internal compartment volume, and a built-in rain cover.
From The Campground
Half Moon Bay State Beach offers tent and RV camping with sites offering electric hookups and no hookups. There are no sewer or water hookups, but there is a dump and water filling station. The all-terrain beach wheelchair is available for use by the public at no cost, and may be checked out from Francis Beach Entrance Station. Dogs are permitted in the campground, in the day-use picnic areas, and on the Coastside Trail. Drones are not allowed in the park. Collecting is prohibited. Fireworks are prohibited. Permits are required for all events and weddings. A photography permit is required for all commercial photography. Friendly Acres/Sea Horse Ranch offers horseback trail rides. Sani-Star, LLC. provides an automated RV dump fee collection system in Francis Beach Campground.
